An Informal Public Talk:

“Living in Asia as World Citizens”

Diana and Tim have lived in Asia and Eastern Europe for 42 years: Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Romania, India, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, and North Korea. Tim worked with the United Nations for 26 years. Diana worked as an international educator, founding two pre-schools and serving as an educational consultant to Governments.

Tim served as the head of UNICEF Offices in Southern India, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, and North Korea, where, as Baha’is, they were challenged to truly see that “The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens.”

  • How was it possible to overcome assumptions, prejudices, and politics to see “people as people” and to build heart-to-heart bridges with people?
  • What spiritual principles did they strive to apply in action to connect with the people even under challenging circumstances?

Please join a non-political talk and discussion by Diana and Tim Schaffter on their experiences of living as “World Citizens” in isolated places few people have ever visited.
